Quarry Visits

We always look forward to a day at the quarry selecting new rocks for a project. We use various quarries across the country, depending on the client's stone preference or proximity to the project. Personally, I feel like a kid in a sweet shop at the quarry, surrounded by so many beautiful rocks. Each visit is unique as the rocks are constantly being moved and extracted from different areas or levels, providing new options to choose from every time.

The rock selection is crucial for creating a natural water feature or waterfall. The sizes and shapes of the rocks are what make the feature look like it has always been there, with water naturally forming the shapes over many years. We spend a significant amount of time exploring the entire quarry to ensure we select the best rocks for each project, picking every stone we use, from the smallest to the largest.

Often, a particular rock at the quarry will inspire new ideas for the project. Its shape or the way I can envision water flowing over it might lead me to try something different. With over 20 years of experience visiting quarries, we have built strong relationships with the quarry workers and management. This trust allows us to work safely in areas not accessible to everyone.
